Job Description:
Field Services Electrical Engineer in Lancaster,
Pennsylvania Duties: Perform electrical engineering troubleshooting and
problem analysis associated with Protection & Control P&C) systems and utility substation equipment, including Application
Errors and Omissions, Drawing Errors and Omissions, Wiring Errors and Omissions, Settings Errors and Omissions,
Equipment Malfunctions, Questionable Apparatus Test Results, and Battery Ground Faults. Plan, coordinate, perform,
and document the commissioning of various utility substation protection, control and power circuits in accordance
with company and client requirements, budgets, schedule, and other project-specific requirements and planning
documents to ensure the intended operation and safety of equipment and personnel are met. Interface with Regional
Managers and Project Managers to support potential projects with the preparation of electrical engineering
proposals, estimates, and schedules and support booked project budgets, schedules and deliverables. Identify Estimates to
Complete, Requests for Information, and develop change orders and backup documentation. Assist in developing
project-specific testing and commissioning plans, energization plans, and other assigned project-specific
documentation. Identify risks and associated mitigation techniques on utility systems and equipment. Develop a Site Risk
Assessment to document all high-risk construction and commissioning activities and to formalize the processes of
circuit isolation and restoration. Develop, review, and approve detailed test reports for various types of electrical
equipment. Assist Test Technicians or Senior Test Technicians with apparatus testing. Education & Experience Requirements: Master's degree in
Electrical Engineering or related field (willing to accept
foreign education equivalent) and no experience. Or, alternatively, a
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 2 years of experience
commissioning and testing electrical substations for public and private sector clientele. Also requires the following skills: (1) Demonstrated expertise
leveraging electrical protection systems, including relay communications, AC and DC schematics, wiring and drawings,
one-line and three-line interconnection diagrams, high- voltage studies, and design intent of all P&C circuits; (2)
Demonstrated expertise leveraging knowledge of testing and commissioning knowledge of substation utility protection and
control circuits, performing commissioning activities, and interpreting results; (3) Demonstrated expertise leveraging
Microprocessor Relays Software, Settings, and Logic Application and Testing, including SEL, GE, ABB, ZIV, Alstom,
Beckwith, acSELerator, Quickset, compass, GE SGConfig and NXTPhase; and, (4) Demonstrated expertise leveraging
Electromechanical and Solid State Relays Application and Testing Techniques, Literature and perform isolation and
