Job Description:
This position will support the West Texas, to include but not
limited to: Lubbock, TX; Slaton, TX; Vealmoor, TX; Odessa, TX;
extending to East New Mexico Responsibilities Must reside or be
willing to relocation to the Lubbock or Abilene area Relocations
assistance to the West Texas area considered The Senior Industrial
Electrician ’s role is to safely maintain, troubleshoot, and repair
plant electrical equipment, as well as upkeep of records for
sustaining quarry operations. This equipment ranges from small
fractional horsepower motors to large medium voltage motors used to
start mills and fans. Motors Motor control systems Control power
circuits Transformers of various sizes Plant lighting DC drives
Variable Frequency Drives Responsibilities: Coordinate all in-house
electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant
controls for rail operations Troubleshoot AC / DC motor controls
and drives Will be working with up to 480v Actively research
potential upgrades and fine-tune existing operations to improve
safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability
and reporting Work closely with engineering group and outside
contracted vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital
improvement projects Support corporate safety culture and perform
duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations Lead by
example on all MMM safety rules/procedures and MSHA compliance
standards and ensure that all employees are following established
safety policies and procedures Encourage employees to participate
in Guardian Angel activities May be required to drive OTR and other
plant locations Preferred Education and Experience 2-year technical
degree in electrical or comparable experience preferred Certified /
licensed Electrician preferred 5 years’ experience in aggregates or
similar industry desired 5 years experience in industrial
electrical setting (mining, oil & gas, refinery, etc) Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities Self starter, able to work on own. Excellent
communication skills (written and verbal) Outstanding vendor
relations skills (internal and external contractors) Must be
willing to be on call Working knowledge of high voltage electrical
systems required Skilled in the use of hand tools, test instruments
and electrical construction tools Experience with PLC’s a plus
Valid Drivers License and Good Driving Record Must have a clean DMV
(no more than 1 point on record, no suspensions, failures to
appear, etc.) Physical Requirements Work requires the ability to
lift a maximum of 100 lbs Must be able to climb stairs, climb
ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking,
balance, bend from trunk, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel,
push and pull objects Work requires the ability to perform
sustained overhead reaching Work requires the ability to use
vibration tools Work requires the ability to perform work while
lying on back for prolonged periods of time and in some cases
cramped quarters Work requires the ability to work in areas with
the potential for high noise levels Work is performed 90% outdoors
in all environmental temperatures and weather and 10% indoors Able
to reason through difficult operations problems, resolve said
