Job Description:

Wind Farm Technician Associate role supports operations and maintenance of wind farms, ensuring safety and maximizing availability.

RWE Clean Energy, LLC is seeking a Wind Farm Technician Associate to join their team. As a key member of the operations and maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe execution of scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities, training, and safety exercises. You will also be responsible for maintaining accountability and readiness of plant tools, equipment, and vehicles, providing technical guidance to the O&M team, tracking and maintaining records of service activities, and helping maintain the work ethic and culture of the plant O&M team.

Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Perform maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to policies and procedures.
  
• Assist in conducting acceptance and performance tests on systems and equipment.
  
• Perform safety and other wind farm related tasks as assigned.
  
• Assist with turbine maintenance, including services, major component work and replacement, and troubleshooting.
  
• Assist with Balance of Plant procedures, including substation and collection system maintenance.
  
• Adhere to company values and behaviors.
  
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
  
  
  Qualifications:
  
  • 
    
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    
  • Associate's Degree in Sciences or related field from an accredited school preferred.
    
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission and/or distribution.
    
  • Alternatively, 2 year or 4 year college degree from an accredited school in a technical science like engineering, physics, power, or closely similar; current journeyman or master electrician license.
    
  • Unrestricted driver license in good standing.
    
  • Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
    
  • Ability to work safely in extreme environments.
    
  • Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work day.
    
  • Knowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools.
    
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures.
    
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines.
    
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned.
    
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable.
    
  • Must be able to perform fine motor tasks, such as screwing or unscrewing nuts and bolts, while reaching around and over objects.
    
  • Ability to understand and communicate root causes required.
    
  • Good communication skills and must value being part of a team.
    
  • Must promote safety for all at all times.
    
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and make decisions for all issues related to his/her discipline(s) with limited and/or available information.
