Texas Family Initiative, LLC is a private nonprofit organization that provides experience, compassion, quality care, and services for children in foster care and foster/adopt families. We hold Foster Care Recruitment Contracts with the Texas Department of Human Services, Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). As a partner with DFPS, we recruit and train families to become foster and/adoptive parents.


Master's degree in Social Work or related field; behavioral health licensure from state behavioral health authority; independent clinical licensure preferred.

Valid driver's license and meet agency underwriting standards.

The Family Initiative, Inc. is the parent company providing services in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. We provide service to these areas through our affiliates: TFI Family Connections in Oklahoma and Texas Family Initiative in Texas. Pathway Family Services is an affiliate in Kansas offering additional services to youth and families. As a Program Manager, Family Preservation, you will manager the Family Preservation Program in the region assigned toward its primary goals based on direction provided by senior management. Promotes the well-being of children in the Family Preservation Program, participates in staff meetings and trainings and coordinates with staff from other agencies involved in providing Family Preservation services.

Liaison to state department.
Provides clinical and administrative expertise to staff assigned to the Family Preservation Program
Serves as the court liaison for the Family Preservation Program. Meets with court personnel (judges, lawyers, GALs, etc.) to ensure legal requirements for the child are adhered to.
Reviews, monitors, and coordinates legal requirements for the child with internal/external staff. Ensures actions are promptly and accurately identified to court personnel.
Gathers information from biological family regarding future family preservation issues/opportunities and advises staff.
Provides best practice standards for Agency staff assigned to the Family Preservation Program.
Participates in the planning, programming, and budgeting of the Family Preservation Program.
Participates in the development of short, intermediate and long-range plans and goals for the Family Preservation Program.
Participates in the development of Family Preservation Policies and Procedures.
Maintains a close working relationship with public and private agencies involved in providing Family Preservation services/support.
Organizes regional meetings. Conducts program orientation and on-the-job training of staff assigned to the region.
Provides information to the responsible agency on all matters related to the child/family.
Conducts and coordinates assessments.
Coordinates Family Preservation services and requirements with public and private agencies.
Conducts case planning conferences at required intervals.
Coordinates community resources for the benefit of children/families served by the Family Preservation Program.
Facilitates family preparation for permanency through training, family to family mentoring, family assessment, consultations, home visits, etc.
Maintains the accuracy and content of case records.
Compiles monthly statistical data and reports and forwards to appropriate agencies.
Coordinates with intradepartmental staff on the delivery of services to children and families.
Develops and implements procedures and controls to promote accurate and timely information flow.
Refrains from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
Provides regular supervision and professional development of Agency employees.
Advocates, promotes, and practices cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all day-to-day interactions.
Develops, promotes, and practices teamwork in all activities
