Travel Nurse Job Details - Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Location: Abilene, Texas 79606 (West Texas healthcare jobs) - Facility Setting: Operating Room (Same Day Surgery, Detox, Bone Marrow Transplant, Mental Health, IDD specialties) - Start Date: October 13, 2025 - End Date: January 12, 2026 - Contract Duration: 13 weeks - Shift: Day shift, Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (06:30 - 15:00) - Hours per Week: 40 - On-Call: Required - Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics - Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2070–$2220 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state; must be in hand at submission) - Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience - Certifications required: ACLS, BLS - Proficiency with charting systems (Altera preferred; any charting system accepted) - Must reside at least 150 miles from Abilene, TX facility - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) - Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance - Resume and certification verification required at submission OR RN Responsibilities - Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative care to surgical patients - Demonstrate expertise in fire safety, cell saver, blood product administration, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol (time out), and wound management - Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures: lobe resection, lung resection-thoracotomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy, arthroscopy, fracture reduction, laminectomy/discectomy, ortho/spine, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes - Participate in on-call rotation as required for OR RN travel jobs - Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital protocols and standards Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse in Abilene, Texas, and take the next step in your nursing career!
