Job Title: MS/Tele Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in telemetry or med/surg nursing. License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with accessing/managing ports. Experience with blood product administration. Experience with cardiac telemetry. Experience with central line care/management. Experience with chest tubes management. Experience with CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) care. Experience with external CPAP/BIPAP management. Experience with feeding tube care and management. Experience with Heparin protocols. Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC). Experience with arterial blood gases (ABGs) interpretation. Experience with dysrhythmias interpretation. Experience with isolation precautions. Experience with IV insulin protocols. Ability to manage cardiac drips without titration. Ability to manage vasoactive drips without titration. Experience in the management of dysrhythmias. Experience with post cardiac angiogram. Experience with post myocardial infarction care. Experience with pre and post cardiac catheterization. Experience with pre and post hemodialysis management. Experience with renal failure management. Experience in starting and maintaining IVs. Experience in telemetry monitoring. Experience in remote telemetry monitoring. Ability to titrate cardiac drips. Experience with total joint replacement care. Experience with TR Band management. Experience with rapid response/code teams involvement. Experience with wound care and wound vac management. Description: The position is for a med/surg telemetry registered nurse. Candidates should have experience in managing patients who require cardiac telemetry monitoring. The daily census on the unit is approximately 35 patients. The unit consists of 38 beds. The diverse patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Candidates will be required to work night shifts for this position. The nurse must be prepared to provide quality care to patients with various cardiac and surgical conditions. The role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and other support staff. Candidates should have strong assessment and critical thinking skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. Strong communication skills are required to educate patients and their families. The nurse will need to demonstrate competence in all required nursing skills relevant to this specialty. All candidates must comply with drug screening policies. Experience with specific charting systems may be preferred but is not mandatory. Travel experience is preferred but not required.
