Onsite Full-Time Position Overview Optigy is seeking a Medical
Director to oversee clinical healthcare services within a
correctional setting in Abilene, TX. The Medical Director will lead
a team of healthcare professionals and ensure high-quality,
accessible care for all patients. This role requires sound medical
judgment, strong leadership, and the ability to work independently
while adhering to organizational policies and standards.
Responsibilities Provide advanced clinical services related to the
diagnosis and treatment of patients. Oversee and coordinate the
delivery of comprehensive medical care within the correctional
healthcare environment. Ensure that healthcare services meet
established standards and comply with organizational policies,
state regulations, and national guidelines. Supervise physicians,
physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, including
interviewing, hiring, and performance management. Direct and
evaluate staff performance, address concerns, and promote
continuous quality improvement. Collaborate with nursing,
administrative, and regional leadership teams to ensure seamless
healthcare delivery. Participate in meetings, reporting, and
quality initiatives as directed. Requirements Doctor of Medicine
(MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree Active Texas
medical license and DEA Board Certification in Internal Medicine,
Family Medicine, or related specialty Minimum of 23 years of
clinical experience in primary care, correctional medicine, or
public health preferred Proven leadership and supervisory
experience in a healthcare setting Ability to exercise independent
judgment and manage clinical operations effectively Additional
