ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Brownwood, Texas. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/02/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 36 or 48 hours per week on a medical-surgical unit • Patient ratio of 5:1 during days, nights, and weekends • Weekend coverage required with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • One call shift required per 6-week schedule • 40 hours of orientation provided • Care for adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses including post-op, orthopedic, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, CBI, and urology cases • Daily census ranges from 10-13 patients in a 13-bed unit • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Minimum 2 years of experience required with travel experience preferred • Skills include short stay management, pre/post hemodialysis, telemetry, blood product administration, central line care, PICC management, wound care, chest tube management, and oxygen administration • Allscripts charting system experience preferred • Must complete facility drug screen upon arrival including marijuana testing • Must be at least 150 miles from facility location • Complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting offer • Hard document deadline: Thursday 2pm CST prior to start date • Non-billable modules completed during orientation averaging 6-8 hours Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 13-bed medical-surgical unit providing comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients.
