Job Description:
Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a dedicated and skilled
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic
pool team. As a COTA at Encompass Health, you will provide direct
patient care services under the supervision of an Occupational
Therapist in a setting that mirrors cutting-edge industry
standards. Your role focuses on helping patients regain critical
daily living skills after life-altering injuries or medical events.
Our commitment to personalized care offers a chance to make a
significant impact in patient outcomes in our rehabilitation
hospitals and home health settings, reflecting our broad network of
healthcare services. Implement patient treatment plans established
by the registered Occupational Therapist. Document patient progress
and report to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Assist
patients in performing specific exercises as part of the plan of
care. Educate patients and families on home-based therapy regimens.
Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment. Adjust therapy
techniques based on patient response and collaborate with
healthcare team members to optimize care. Proven ability to follow
and execute treatment plans designed by an Occupational Therapist.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with
patients, families, and other healthcare team members. Demonstrated
ability to instruct and manage patients in completing physical
tasks. Basic knowledge of healthcare safety and infection control
protocols. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k
Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
(COTA). State licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a
COTA.
