Seeking an experienced perioperative RN / travel nurse for a 13-week assignment covering neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, and robotic/general cases. Job Details — Travel OR RN / Perioperative Nurse - Location: Abilene, TX 79601 (Texas travel nursing, nurse jobs in Abilene) - Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026) - Shift: Day shifts, Monday – Thursday, 4x10-hour shifts (06:30 – 17:00) - Hours per Week: 40 - Estimated Weekly Salary: $2350–$2470/week - Call and late days: As required (OR call rotation) - Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics - Unit: Operating Room (OR) — perioperative nursing, surgical nurse role Qualifications / Job Requirements - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (license in hand required at submission) - Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room (OR RN) experience, including craniotomy and burr hole procedures (required) - Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (as applicable) - Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and robotic-assisted surgery preferred - Charting experience with Allscripts or Altera preferred; strong electronic charting / documentation skills - Previous charge nurse, trauma level I/II, and travel nurse experience preferred - Must be able to complete facility drug screening (including marijuana) and labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) Responsibilities — Operating Room RN / Perioperative Duties - Provide perioperative nursing care for a diverse surgical population, including neuro/spine, ortho/trauma, and general/robotics procedures - Demonstrate proficiency in craniotomy and burr hole procedures (required) and assist in complex neurosurgical cases - Assist with a wide range of surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, trauma cases - Operate and assist with the Da Vinci Xi robotic system and other surgical technologies when applicable - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, surgical techs, anesthesiology) to ensure safe, high-quality patient care - Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records; ensure perioperative safety protocols and infection control standards - Participate in call rotation and late days as needed; provide compassionate care to patients across all age groups Why Abilene, TX?
