Surg for a travel nursing job in Brownwood, Texas. Job Description
& Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date:
03/30/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12
hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg
Job Details: • Work 36 or 48 hours per week on a med-surg unit with
no telemetry monitoring • Maintain 5:1 patient ratio during days,
nights, and weekends • Care for adults and geriatric patients with
daily census of 10-13 patients • Work with 13-room, 13-bed unit
capacity • One call shift required per 6-week schedule • Weekend
coverage required with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • 40
hours of orientation with non-billable modules averaging 6-8 hours
• 2 years of experience required with travel experience preferred •
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Must be comfortable
with short stay 23-hour unit, pre/post hemodialysis management, and
renal failure care • Skills include bowel obstruction care,
colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, CBI, port
access, blood product administration, central line blood draws,
PICC line management, IV starts and maintenance • Experience with
heparin, insulin, PCA, CVA care, mood disorders, ortho trauma,
total joint replacement, surgical drains, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP,
high flow nasal cannula, and wound care/wound vac required •
Patient diagnoses include post-op, ortho, diabetes, pneumonia,
wound care, CBI, and URO cases • Allscripts charting system
experience preferred • Must be located at least 150 miles from
facility • Mandatory drug screen upon arrival including marijuana
