Job Details - Location: Abilene, TX 79606 — West Texas healthcare opportunity - Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,350 - $2,470 per week - Setting: Outpatient Surgery Center / Ambulatory OR (Perioperative nursing) - Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026) - Shift: Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (07:30 – 16:00) - Hours per Week: 40 - Type: Travel RN, On-Site (Travel nursing, travel RN job) - Patient Age Groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics - Schedule Perk: No call, no weekends, no holidays — ideal for work-life balance Required Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission (required) - Minimum 2 years clinical experience in outpatient surgery, ambulatory surgery, or related service line (Ambulatory Surgery RN, Perioperative RN) - Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS (current) - Experience with Ambulatory OR procedures and a broad range of surgical cases - Comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan: pediatrics through geriatrics - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) - Altera charting experience preferred but not required - Prior travel nurse experience preferred - Must complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance - Facility drug screen required upon arrival (including Marijuana) Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for outpatient surgical patients (pre-op, intra-op, post-op) - Support and assist with a wide range of ambulatory procedures including endoscopic sinus, laparoscopic, laryngectomy, septoplasty/rhinoplasty, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, pediatric dentistry, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, fat grafting, free flap microvascular, mastectomy with TRAM flap reconstruction, ankle fusion, bunionectomy, hallux valgus arthroplasty/arthrodesis, metatarsal surgery, myringotomy with tubes, tracheostomy, and more - Maintain accurate patient documentation using electronic charting systems (Altera preferred) - Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perioperative staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes - Adhere to facility policies, infection control standards, and regulatory compliance - Participate in orientation and complete required onboarding modules Why Abilene?
