Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Compliance, the Compliance and Integrity Coordinator will support the auditing and monitoring of hospital operations. #This position conducts scheduled audits defined in the annual audit plan, as well as, requested unplanned audits resulting from an internal request or a government investigation. Plans, coordinates and manages audits and third party investigations under the direction of compliance leadership. Conducts coding, billing and other business procedure audits and prepares and presents reports of findings at the direction of compliance leadership. Assists with the development of corrective actions and monitoring activities to mitigate risk and validate ongoing compliance with government regulatory requirements. Conducts internal investigations reported though the compliance/ethics line as applicable, assists the organization#s compliance staff as directed to research and investigate concerns or questions related to compliance or regulatory requirements. Provides support to compliance leadership during government investigations, including document indexing, medical record review, research regarding applicable laws and regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures/operational processes and maintaining investigation file integrity. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 3+ years of professional experience in a compliance-related field. ######################################### Bachelors degree in healthcare, business or related field and/or CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance) designation is required. # Healthcare Compliance Certification from the Compliance Certification Board (#CCB#) and/or a Graduate Certificate in Health Care Compliance (#CHC#) within one (1) Year of appointment and maintain such certification throughout employment. # Additional Compliance-related certifications are preferred (e.g., CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CHRC (Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance), RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist). # Experience in Payer or Healthcare operations, regulatory requirements, legal, revenue cycle, coding registered nurse (RN) or audit standards preferred as relevant to the position.Knowledge of and/or experience in regulations that impact hospitals, hospital charging, documentation, coding, and billing procedures, medical records, and knowledge of audit techniques required. # Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to problem solve and perform research is essential. Must be organized, versatile, and able to work independently. # Responsible for programs, policies, and practices that ensure the system is in compliance with Joint Commission, HIPAA, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
