    Position Description: Building Inspector

    The Building Inspector will support the government client at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, TX.

    Primary work location will be Dyess Air Force Base near Abilene, Texas.
    Full-Time, Salaried position. Approximately 40 hours per work week.


    Minimum Qualifications: Building Inspector


    • Bachelor's degree (substitution available) in Engineering, Architectural, Construction or Management curriculums or 6 years of work experience (substitute: Associates Degree plus 4 years work experience)


      Desired Qualifications: Building Inspector


      • 3+ years of work experience
      • Experience working with US military or Department of Defense (DoD)


        Required Skills: Building Inspector


        • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, navigating throughout Dyess AFB on both paved and gravel roads
        • Ability to plan, organize, and lead others in studies, designs, and construction projects, as well as record and manage the processes and documentation
        • Ability to communicate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations, leverage resources to implement changes in established concepts and procedures
        • Ability to negotiate complex issues and maintain good working relationships
        • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint



          Responsibilities: Building Inspector


          • Perform site and building inspections during project execution to ensure compliance with FSRM and MILCON designs and project contract requirements by service providers including final acceptance inspections and report results
          • Respond to current construction request for information (RFI) queries and clarifications, and performing management of ongoing FSRM projects including construction site and building inspections to ensure adherence to all applicable statutes, regulations, guidance and contractual requirements of the project
          • Prepare A/E design SOWs and GCEs
          • Input weekly project updates in the TRIRIGA Database
          • Prepare construction worthy scope packages which may include any or all of the following: statement of objectives, statement of work, government cost estimate, schedule of submittals, sketches prepared with CAD software, abbreviated specifications, simple calculations
          • Coordinate Pre-Construction Conference ensuring all necessary agencies are in attendance. Additionally, ensure the pre-Final and Final Inspections are coordinated with all necessary agencies
          • Execute tasks assigned by USAF personnel and Ecompex Team Lead
