Overview:Abilene Dental Care - North has an opening for a Traveling Orthodontic Dental Assistant. We provide a working environment like no other dental office you have ever seen! We offer all this and a compensation package that includes health insurance plans, a competitive bonus structure, PTO and 401k.Responsibilities:Communicates with the patients (parents/guardians), orthodontist and other team members effectivelyPrepares all orthodontic treatment rooms in advance of orthodontic patientHandles hazardous chemicals in a safe mannerRestocks all orthodontic treatment rooms and other clinical support areasPerforms periodic inventory of all orthodontic suppliesResponsible for traveling crate of orthodontic supplies between multiple locationsWelcomes patients to treatment rooms in a timely fashionKeeps the patient schedule on time by being aware of the daily schedule, working efficiently and as a member of a cohesive teamTakes x-rays as prescribedAssists the orthodontist with all registered dental assisting duties, including orthodontic proceduresRecords treatment renderedInstructs patients in oral hygieneEscorts patient to the business area for follow-up and schedulingMay be called upon to schedule next appointmentSterilizes instruments and equipment after each patient appointmentMaintains cleanliness of treatment rooms and sterilization areaCan accept constructive criticismProficient in using conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques in managing interpersonal conflict and patient complaints Is organized, motivated, committed and self-directedDemonstrates ability to use assigned computer software and other equipmentCompletes annual education and/or licensing requirements, if applicableMaintains dependable job attendanceAdheres to all safety and infection control rulesUses appropriate safety equipment.Complies with HIPAA and maintains confidential informationPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications:Bilingual Preferred but not requiredIn depth knowledge of all orthodontics dental assistant duties1 year of previous experience assisting in an orthodontic setting preferredAccepting newly graduatesAll required certifications for dental assistingAbility to travel to multiple locations within a territory to provide orthodontic dental assisting services is requiredMay be required to work some Saturdays as needed*Must be willing to travel to cities as needed.INDHRSP01
